Heya year 10s! How are you all going with the ensemble performance this week? I really wanted to aim for abstact / symbolic representation rather than realistic / literal translations on stage. It's all about movement and expression with the body. So far most of you have grasped this, by incorporating most of the asian drama and developing your own style.
Any other ideas? What did we want to do in terms of costumes, masks, paint etc etc?
Don't forget we can also work on the matrix style performance that Kris posted, check out the links from his last comment on the first physical drama post.
Have fun.

I liked what we did on Thursday a lot. Just being able to try and incoperate our own ideas with eachother to make the performance was great. I liked Joe's group performance the best, just the face at the start of it is enough, but the whole thing was cool. I was thinking it would be cool if we could have some kinda backdrop or soemthing, but im guessing it wont look good if there were shadows. I lke the idea of some groups with masks or soemthing to hide the identity, it may look mysterious but cool. To be honest when i first tied to picture the actual performance all together, in ma head all i could see was some kinda mob that looked so scary in black with white masks, or something that would stand out.
ReplyDeleteThursday was tha first time I did this n it was cool. We werr in groups n we made an act each. Now we are tryin' to mix all our acts together. I liked that people liked my group (me, Jo n K.ris). I like tha way we are doing thins now, so i don't want to see much changed. But i would wanna werr sum of that japanese clothin' or just 1 colour clothes.
ReplyDeleteI hope i done this right n wrote this in tha rite place. if i am wrong people plezz tell me.
last weeks prac lesson was awkward. We had to make our own physical drama piece and incoperate the type of techniques we had learn't... It wasn't that easy! I guess im still I'm getting use to this genre.
ReplyDeleteI found this other video and i was thinking we could use this this technique if we are going to pull body parts off people eg: Jo.
